On Sunday, April 14, Shameer Joseph made his IPL debut while playing for LSG against KKR. This is the first time he will get to show off in the league. Shameer made headlines for West Indies with his outstanding performance, leading the team to a historic victory at the Gabba Test earlier this year. Shameer was included in Lucknow instead of Mark Wood.
The West Indian fast bowler had to wait for his opportunity despite the excitement surrounding him because LSG chose to add him to the tournament with ease. Shameer would have an opportunity to compete in the tournament, KL Rahul had stated during the IPL toss between RCB and himself.
Now that Shameer Joseph has been added to the Lucknow lineup in lieu of Navin-ul-Haq, he has finally got his chance. In addition to Deepak Hooda and Mohsin Khan’s return, Devdutt Padikkal has also confirmed his place. Mayank Yadav, a quick bowler for LSG, is sidelined while he recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered during the GT encounter.
